Welcome to World Football
(www.worldfootballrankings.com)
There are literally thousands of great websites on the internet today that feature the Football Players of the World and the up to date results of the major Football Leagues of the World. There are, however very few sites that feature the Football Clubs of the World and the Leagues they play in, and even fewer that feature the Passion of the Supporters that make it all possible. At World Football, the Supporters, the Clubs and their history, the League histories and the cities and countries where it all happens take centre stage.
World Football will take you to the four corners of this great Planet to discover that the Passion of Football is universal!! Along the way, take some interesting side trips and discover fascinating aspects of World Football, such as which is the World's No.1 Football City.

To inform football lovers from around the World about the culture and history of the passionate supporters in other parts of the World.
To feature the football clubs, leagues and supporters of the World.
To demonstrate the Universal Passion of Football
The information on this site comes from thousands of hours of research. Attendance figures have been obtained from more than 10,000 web pages, dozens of newspapers and magazines, plus help from many football clubs, federations and sports news agencies, as well as numerous football lovers around the World. To acknowledge all contributors would require more space than is available on this site, but below you will find links to websites of some particularly helpful organisations and some of the best football websites. Acknowledgement of particularly significant assistance is provided on specific pages throughout the site. Copyright permission has been obtained for copyright photos (see 'Copyright Information' at the bottom of this page). Where possible, attendance figures have been cross checked against 3 (three) sources. Major European Soccer Leagues are checked against at least 5 sources. It is important to recognise that only domestic club competitions are included. Rankings are based on 12 (twelve) month periods with each 12 month period finishing on 31 December. Data from some Leagues will include data from separate seasons. This is unavoidable. The previous method of updating data every 6 months has proven to be far too time consuming. Only professional or important semi-professional leagues are included. Finals or playoff games are not included. Data for more leagues and clubs is continually being discovered and will be included in the next rankings period. International club competitions and leagues such as the European Champions League (Soccer), Atlantic League (American Football) are not included. Leagues consisting of International, State, Regional, County or Educational teams such as the Irish Gaelic Football County Championship, Super 12 Rugby and American College Football are not included. Major Women's and Indoor Football Leagues will be included provided they are the major domestic club Football competition in their home country and reliable data is available. There are an increasing number of clubs from 'smaller' countries playing in the major league of neighbouring larger countries--(e.g. Canada & USA, New Zealand & Australia, Liechtenstein & Switzerland)
Clubs are generally listed as the most well known version of the name. For the purpose of easy location & standardizing, usually, any initials in the name (e.g. FC, SK) will appear at the end of the name. For example, AC Milan will appear as Milan AC in the alphabetical lists. Current names only are used - e.g. The club previously known as Red Star Belgrade is listed under its current official name - Crevena Zveda.
A number of countries/leagues are not included as information can not be located. The Football Associations of many countries have officially advised that attendance data is not currently recorded, however some Associations have now decided to commence or will commence at the start of their next season. If you are aware of a website with club attendance data for any domestic league not included on this site, or if you can assist with any club or league attendances not currently on this website, PLEASE email the site editor (Click Here).
Enjoy your visit to World Football.
